Came to Believe lyrics by Johnny Cash

Came to Believe was a lost song found by Cash's son when he was making order of his father's estate. The song is from a forgotten recording session in 1981 or '84 for Columbia Records. It was released as part of a post humous album called Out Among the Stars.

Lyrics

I couldn't manage the problems I laid on myself
And it just made it worse when I laid them on somebody else
So I finally surrendered it all brought down in despair
I cried out for help and I felt a warm comforter there

And I came to believe in a power much higher than I
I came to believe that I needed help to get by
In childlike faith I gave in and gave him a try
And I came to believe in a power much higher than I

Nothing worked out when I handled it all on my own
And each time I failed it made me feel twice as alone
Then I cried, "Lord there must be a sure and easier way
For it just cannot be that a man should lose hope every day."

Yes, I came to believe in a power much higher than I

I'm Movin' On lyrics by Johnny Cash from the Out Amongst the Stars album.

Originally a tune made popular by Hank Snow, a very popular Candian singer. It's no surprise to see a Snow cover here as Cash recorded a cover of another of his songs, I don't hurt anymore for American Recordings VI.

Lyrics

That big eight wheeler a rollin' down the track
Means your true lovin' daddy ain't comin' back
'Cause I'm movin' on, I'll soon be gone
You were flyin' too high for my little old sky
So I'm movin' on

That big loud whistle as it blew and blew
Said hello to the Southland, we're comin' to you
And we're movin' on, oh hear my song
You had the laugh on me, so I've set you free
And I'm movin' on

Mister Fireman, won't you please listen to me?
'Cause I got a pretty mama in Tennessee
Keep movin' me on, keep rollin' on
So shovel the coal, let this rattle a roll
And keep movin' me on

Mister Engineer take that throttle in hand
This rattler's the fastest in the southern land
To keep movin' me on, keep rollin' on
You're gonna ease my mind, put me there on time
And keep rollin' on

I warned you baby from time to time
But you just wouldn't listen or pay me no mind
Now I'm movin' on, I'm rollin' on
You have broken your vow and it's all over now
So I'm movin' on

You switched your engine now I ain't got time
For a triflin' woman on my main line
'Cause I'm movin' on, you done your daddy wrong
I've warned you twice, now you can settle the price
'Cause I'm movin' on

But someday baby when you've had your play
You're gonna want your daddy but your daddy will say
Keep movin' on, you stayed away too long
I'm through with you, too bad you're blue
Keep movin' on

Baby Ride Easy lyrics by Johnny Cash

Keen Johnny Cash fans might well ask themselves who wrote Baby Ride Easy?

Baby Ride easy was a song composed by Richard Dobson a singer song writer who kicked around during the 1970s. Many of his works have been covered by other more popular artists. Cash's version of this song was not released until 2014.

Of interest, Cash's step daughter June released a popular version of this song.

Baby Rise Easy Lyrics

If I drove a truck
And I were waitress
And I ordered coffee
And I poured you some

Then you'd stop by
On your way sometime later
And if we arm-wrestled
I'd say that you won

My baby, ride easy
Ride high in the saddle all day
If your lovin' is good

And your cookin' ain't greasy
Hitch up the chuck wagon
And we'll ride away

If I were a winsome pale senorita
And I a bull-fighter, down in the sand
While the band kept on playing

That old Paso Doble
I'd throw you a flower
Would you take my hand?

My baby, ride easy
Ride high in the saddle all day
If your lovin' is good

And your cookin' ain't greasy
Hitch up the chuck wagon
And we'll ride away

If I ran the country
Yeah, I'd be your first lady
And fix up the white house
While you were away

Waitin' while I'm passing time
With world leaders
And later, together alone we might lay

My baby, ride easy
Ride high in the saddle all day
If your lovin' is good

And your cookin' ain't greasy
Hitch up the chuck wagon
And we'll ride away

My baby, ride easy
Ride high in the saddle all day
If your lovin' is good

And your cookin' ain't greasy
Hitch up the chuck wagon
And we'll ride away

Hitch up the chuck wagon
And we'll ride away
Hitch up the chuck wagon
And we'll ride away

Hitch up the chuck wagon
Hitch up the chuck wagon
Hitch up the chuck wagon
And we'll ride away

She Used to Love Me a Lot lyrics by Johnny Cash

She Used to Love Me a Lot lyrics by Johnny Cash

It was Cash's son John who found this song whilst making a catalogue of all the recordings his father and mother had made that were stored as part of their estate. Apparently Columbia had forgetton Cash did the sessions in the first have of the 80s and so did everyone else.

She Used to Love Me a Lot was released as part of the posthumus album, Out Among the Stars.

Lyrics

I saw her through the window today
She was sittin' in the Silver Spoon cafe
I started to keep going
But something made me stop
She used to love me a lot

She looked lonely and I knew the cure
Old memories would win her heart for sure
I thought I'd walk on in there
And give it my best shot
She used to love me a lot

I sat down beside her and she smiled
She said where have you been it's been awhile
She seemed so glad to see me
Lord, I could read her thoughts
She used to love me a lot

She used to love me with a love that wouldn't die
Looking at her now I can't believe i said good-bye
It would only take a minute to turn back the clock
She used to love me a lot

Well I reminded her how good it was back then
I said you know it's not to late to start again
We could spend a night together
Take up where we left off
She used to love me a lot

Then I panicked as she turned to walk away
As she went out the door I heard her say
Yes I'm in need of something
But it's something you ain't got
But I used to love you a lot

Chorus

She used to love me with a love that wouldn't die
Looking at her now I can't believe she said good-bye
It would only take a minute to turn back that ol' clock
She used to love me a lot
She used to love me a lot
She used to love me a lot ...
